The small one in the vid is ~3.5" for which it was already difficult to make the modules tight fitting ;)
i just realized why mine was harder to make, the paper was 3inches .lol

you can use and kind of paper as long as its not too thick.printing paper usually works. if not then go to an arts&crafts store

who invented this module?
I removed my 12 unit ball vid some time ago... but when you look at the completed 30 module ball you see points where 5 modules come together "5 ring" and points where 3 modules come together "3 ring" only difference is that you remove one module from the "5 ring" so now create "4 rings" and the "3 rings" as shown in this vid... The is indeed more tension in the modules but still it is not very difficult to assemble. Good luck! :D
